TLIC1051A OPERATE COMMERCiAL VEHICLE (1/2 day)
Course Aim
Drivers will gain skills, knowledge and experience to operate commercial vehicles safely, including the monitoring of traffic and associated equipment and, management of vehicle condition, and performance and effective management of hazardous situations.
Course Description
Time is money! Test & Training provides exclusive up-to-date driver training at a high competency level with measurable outcome. Thanks the use of T&T’s invented and patented electronic training device Hazard Avoiding Training System (HATS), the quality of training can be achieved in half the time and great pleasure.
Quality of training starts with the trainer. Cert IV in Training & Assessment, Cert IV in Driving Instructor, Senior First Aid, and great sound of mechanical background are T&T’s minimum qualifications for staff.
Successful completion and assessment of this course will result in the applicant being awarded a Statement of Attainment in the nationally recognised unit of competency TLIC1051A Operate Commercial Vehicle.

- Observation techniques
- Hazard identification, prevention and management
- Vehicle dynamics
- Eco driving – 4 Golden Rules
- Fatigue management & alcohol
- ABS, ESC, EBD, BAS
- 4WD transmission & transmission windup
- Pre-operational vehicle check
- Minor routine repairs – analyze and repair system malfunction
- Commentary drive
- Sealed road and gravel road driving
- Emergency ABS braking exercises
- Emergency brake and evade exercises
Course Requirements:
- Current Driver's Licence
Maximum Participants per Instructor:
- 8 Drivers per day (2 groups of 4 people)
Course Price:
- $350 per person incl. vehicle
- Re-assessment and any associated costs will be considered on an individual basis
