RIIVEH201B Operate Light vehicle (1/2 day)
Course Aim
This unit covers the operation of a light vehicle in the resources and infrastructure industries. It includes planning and preparing for operations, operating a light vehicle, and carrying out operator maintenance.
Course Description
This course has been specifically designed to skill personnel working in the resource industry development and mining sectors to operate a mine spec 4WD vehicle.
Successful completion and assessment of this course will result in the applicant being awarded a Statement of Attainment in the nationally recognised unit of competency RIIVEH201B Drive Light Vehicle.
Training Program
- Hazard identification, prevention and management
- Vehicle dynamics
- Fatigue management & alcohol
- ABS, ESC, EBD, BAS
- 4WD transmission & transmission windup
- Extended pre-operational vehicle check
- Conduct routine operational servicing
- Carry out minor maintenance and repairs
- Sealed road and gravel road driving
- Emergency ABS braking exercises
- Emergency brake and evade exercises
Course Requirements:
- Current Driver's Licence
Maximum Participants per Instructor:
- 8 Drivers per day (2 groups of 4 people)
Course Price:
- $350 per person incl. vehicle
- Re-assessment and any associated costs will be considered on an individual basis.
