Course Aim

The aim of this course is to provide tourists with the theoretical and practical, core knowledge of how to operate a 4WD in Australia. Participants will gain practical training with their hired 4WD vehicle to experience and improve driving skills in accordance with the acquiredtheory. This course is provided in Perth Australia on our special designed 4WD track.

Course Description

Test & Training Driving Experience® provides exclusive 4WD drivertraining at a high learning level and with great pleasure. This specially designed 4WD training course focuses on how to operate a 4WD vehicle in a range of different conditions such as on Gravel Roads, softsand, hills and water crossings.

An accredited and competent Instructor will guide, control and monitor all participants through training whilst they gain theoretical knowledge and driving experience.

At the end of the course, all participants will receive Test & Training Driving Experience® “Confirmation of Participation” certificate.

Training Program

  • 1HR Presentation: Core driving physics, 4WD vehicle technique such as; Hazard awareness, torque transmission, stopping distance, different braking methods, major differences between Australian to European Road Rules, road conditions, vehicle dynamics, 4WD transmission; High Range, High Range-Lock, Neutral, Low Range, Low Range-Lock, transmission wind-up, wheel hubs, basics of 4WD recovery and equipment, how to safe fuel with ECO driving, possible danger in Outback and how to manage it safely, basic first aid.
  • 3HRS Driving Experience: Posture, steering and vision techniques, pre-start check, Driver training conducted with radio controlls. 4WD Track; hill-stall recovery, manage hills, softsand, operate 4WD on different situations, de- and inflate tyres.

Course Requirements:

  • Current Driver's Licence
  • Own 4WD Vehicle

  • 4Hrs

Maximum Participants:

  • Maximum 10 Vehicles

Course Price:

  • $285 per Vehicle, incl. two drivers ($150 for each additional driver in the same vehicle)
